Located at the enviable position of heavily traveled Jamboree Road and MacArthur Boulevard, it's the perfect location for an upscale car dealership in an affluent neighborhood. The challenge was the only access allowed off of either street would be a right in/ right out curb cut along southbound Jamboree Boulevard. The dealership would be visible from all 4 sides with no back of house location to put less desirable elements typically at the rear of the site. Additionally, a 60' utility easement bisecting the site could not be relocated. Primary access would be off the surface street away from the major view corridor for both service and sales. The resulting solution challenged the typical dealership paradigm and created a dealership worthy of the luxury brand. The process involved locating the service drive over the 60' easement and changing the typical placement of service writers along the service drive, and meeting customers with a greeter similar to a high end resort Porte Cochere. The service entrance to the dealership was located between two cascading water elements along the customers travel to their service writer. The customer service vehicles were able to be located in the covered service drive as well, therefore decreasing time and distance travelled to get service customer's and their items transferred to the loaner car and allowing the customer to get on their way. The motto of the dealership "It's About Time" was taken into account every step of the design process.
