After three exhaustive years and combined efforts of many, CCa joined their client - DCT Industrial in the celebration on July 6, 2016, for the groundbreaking of an 800,000 Square Foot Logistics Center in Tracy, CA.
CCa employees showed great creativity and ingenuity when the first individual Gingerbread House Contest was held during the holiday season. With an impressive participation rate and some very serious competitors, each person was provided with one Trader Joe's gingerbread house kit. Participants could only use items in the kit and nothing else as their "building materials". Use of any additional items would result in disqualification. Because of the uniqueness and originality of each entry, several categories had to be made and determining the winners proved to be a huge challenge for the judges. Allison Mitchell's creation of "Snoopy's Dog House" was the overall winner with several others coming in at a very close second.
In an effort to be more environmentally responsible while creating considerable cost savings on mileage reimbursement, Carlile Coatsworth Architects purchased 5 alternative energy automobiles for the company. Two Chevrolet Volts plug-in hybrid electrical vehicles, and three Honda Civic Natural Gas vehicles using Compressed Natural Gas which burns cleaner than regular gasoline. In addition to the savings in fuel, all five vehicles came with High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV tudor replica watches) stickers allowing single drivers to utilize the carpool lane providing a huge time savings for our employees when conducting site-surveys, attending off-site meetings and going to the various building departments throughout Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego Counties.
To commemorate our 25 year anniversary, Carlile Coatsworth Architects recently celebrated this major milestone at Nagisa Restaurant in Corona del Mar with current employees and their kammybags guests. Sushi, sake and champagne were consumed in mass quantities and good times were had by all.
